Changes in 2022
Since I turned 80 two years ago, I have been attempting to find someone who I could appoint to manage the job of checking with KDP for your royalties every month. This would involve checking with KDP and then sending you a report with a check for your royalties. I worked with two people during that time, but they decided not to accept the appointment. I believe there were two reasons for this. The first is that it involves a lot of work. The second is that lacking any significant book sales, the job would not pay much.
My primary source of income is the publishing. The followup management only pays if books sell. There are two ways I may draw income after the initial publishing. One is if I sell the book through the website. This brings me a 20% commission in place of the 40% commission that KDP Amazon charges when they sell the book. The second way is the .75 cents per book sale accounting fee when the book is sold by Amazon directly. For both methods, my income depends on book sales. A lack of sales is a lack of income.
Since I have found no one to take over if something happens to me, I’ve decided to sell Positive Imaging, LLC, to someone or some company who can take over the business entirely. That arrangement would require them to continue managing the contractual arrangements that Positive Imaging, LLC has with all the authors. The exact details of this arrangement would have to be worked out and it may involve me continuing to publish books with them picking up the management of sales and royalties.
